U8 KAPNER TEAM INFORMATION
ANNOUNCEMENTS (Updated 04/10/2007) It's Spring Season !! We welcome five new players.We have grown and developed very nicely since we started in early October 2006. Spring season has officially begun. Our plan is to continue our ambitious practice schedule and find a league and/or a series of tournaments to play in through the end of the school year. We will start up again in early September. Currently our plan is to remain an 8 and under team for the Spring, and move up to 9 and under in the Fall. Our first priority remains fundamentals - our drills emphasize ball handling, passing, defense, screening and moving without the ball. We have introduced a basic motion offense, a full court trap defense, an isolation pick and roll set and several inbound plays including one designed to break a full-court press. We will do our best to grow into a great basketball team. But let's always remember the bigger picture and what is really important: This team can be a tremendous vehicle to help our children grow in many positive ways outside of sports. In our book, sportsmanship, character-building and humility trump winning every time. Please check this website regularly, as we will post updates, game schedules, tournament schedules, results, and other important information about the team. Flames 8 and Under Schedule beginning April 10 through June 10th.
